OUR HISTORY

In 1999 Sharon Macquarie was invited to be involved in a responsiveness programme in the Electricity Supply Industry to recognise women in industry. Sharon was trained as a workplace assessor and completed the National Diploma in Business Administration Level 5 through recognition of current competency assessment. The value of this form of achievement to people in the workplace was obvious to Sharon. She left her corporate role in March 2000 to become a registered workplace assessor contracting to Industry Training Organisations.

Phil Macquarie joined the business in 2001 to set up the Quality Management System and manage the NZQA registration and accreditation process. Today Phil and Sharon act as Managing Directors and they support a highly experienced and skilled team of local and international trainers, workplace assessors, moderators and administration staff. The client base has grown significantly over the years and the business has extended into multiple industries. Macquarie Training has a solid reputation for quality and is known as a leader in the workplace development field.
